Admission Requirements

Admission to the General Medicine program requires an education document recognized as at least a secondary education level in Russia.

Starting in 2025, instruction in the General Medicine program for the specialty 31.05.01 General Medicine is conducted only in Russian.

Entrance exams:

  • Chemistry (in Russian);
  • Biology (in Russian);
  • Russian Language.

To prepare for entrance exams, you can use a practice test.

Program Description

The medical profession is one of the most noble and important professions on Earth. Studying in the General Medicine specialty program is the first stage in developing this profession. Over the course of six years, future doctors study fundamental and clinical medical disciplines, as well as the humanities and natural sciences.

Practical training includes:

  • Year 1 – Introductory practical training;
  • Year 2 – Fundamentals of practical diagnostic skills; Diagnostic practical training;
  • Year 3 – Emergency medical procedures practical training; Medical practical training;
  • Years 4 and 5 – Clinical practical training in therapeutic, surgical, and obstetric diagnostics;
  • Year 5 – Outpatient practical training;
  • Year 6 – Basic research skills. Electronic technologies in the outpatient setting.

Career Prospects

Graduates who complete this educational program and pass the final state certification receive the qualification of "Doctor of Medicine" in specialty 31.05.01 "General Medicine" and a state-recognized diploma of the Russian Federation.

After receiving the diploma, graduates can:

  • practice as a primary care physician after passing initial accreditation;
  • obtain an advanced medical specialization by enrolling in a residency program;
  • continue their scientific career by enrolling in a postgraduate program.
