
The Master's degree program 39.04.01 "Sociology", focusing on "Sociology in Healthcare", is offered at the Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University with the aim of creating conditions for students to acquire the knowledge, skills, practical experience, and competencies of a certain level and scope necessary for obtaining qualifications and pursuing professional activities. The program is full-time.
Professional competencies are defined based on an analysis of the professional standard "Sociologist: Specialist in Fundamental and Applied Sociological Research", the professional competency requirements for graduates in the labor market, a review of domestic and international experience, and consultations with leading employers and employer associations in industries where graduates are in demand.
Graduates who have completed this educational program and successfully passed the final (state final) assessment are awarded a Master's degree in the field of study 39.04.01 Sociology, focusing on "Sociology in Healthcare".
Upon completion of the program, the graduate's educational trajectory may be furthered by pursuing a postgraduate degree program in the scientific specialty 5.4.4 Social Structure, Institutions, and Processes.
Students will acquire the knowledge, skills, and practical experience needed to develop the competencies necessary to organize, conduct, and improve methods for conducting fundamental and applied sociological research, develop models and methods for explaining social phenomena and processes, conduct sociological assessments, and provide consulting services based on the results of fundamental, applied, and sociological research.
Graduates who have completed this educational program will be able to successfully address pedagogical, scientific research, social and technological, project-based, and organizational-managerial tasks of their professional activities.
Practical training is provided at third-party organizations that serve as internship bases. These internship bases are organizations under the jurisdiction of the Moscow Department of Health and the Moscow Department of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, possessing the necessary human resources and scientific and technical potential, whose primary activities determine the availability of professional training facilities for graduates in their respective fields. Practical training is also provided in departments and separate structural divisions of the University.
