Additionally, 6 postgraduate research candidates are affiliated with the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Medicine No. 2  to prepare their dissertations without enrolling in formal postgraduate programs for scientific and academic training. Every year, postgraduate students, residents, and students participating in the department's research club win prizes at scientific conferences and student research forums.

In recent years, significant efforts have been made to qualitatively reform and enhance the teaching of propaedeutics in accordance with modern requirements of higher medical education and new technical learning opportunities. The structure of practical classes has been substantially revised, with significantly more time allocated to students' independent work at the patient’s bedside and the improvement of examination techniques.

The curriculum now includes two semester-based assessments of practical skills using control photo and audio materials illustrating various pathological symptoms, as well as training with auscultation simulators. Test-based knowledge assessment is widely implemented using an automated educational system (AES), a course project — an examination medical case. For self-study, workbooks with key questions on the topics covered are successfully utilized.
