Science on screen: projects for the film laboratory “Anatomy of Discoveries” have been selected at Pirogov University

How to make complex things simple, and scientific things engaging? This is the question the participants of the “Anatomy of Discoveries” film laboratory are trying to answer. Recently, an in‑person review of the directors’ applications was held at Pirogov University, and the expert council announced the names of those who will begin turning science into films this summer.

Among the winners are three authors with completely different, yet equally bold ideas. Some reflect on space, others seek randomness in molecular structures, and still others explore the limits of the human body in sports. They are united by one thing: the desire to show science as a living process.

The list of selected projects:

“Why do mice need to go into space?” (Darina Bolgova);
“In Search of Randomness” (Valeria Semenchukova);
“On the Distance” (Alexey Gorbunov Jr.).

Ahead lies immersion in laboratories, work with scientists, and access to data that usually remains behind the doors of research centers. The result will be documentaries that will be seen by audiences across the country.

The project is being implemented with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia as part of the Decade of Science and Technology.
