Participation in a medical unit gives students the opportunity to get official employment during the summer and gain practical experience in their future profession. Every summer, participants go on work projects to various regions of Russia, work in medical organizations, and get to know industry professionals, new cities, and their cultures.

At the same time, the life of the teams is not limited to work. It also involves the development of super‑professional skills, sports and creative events, and the opportunity to try out the roles of participant, organizer, and leader.

Student teams are divided into specialized and non‑specialized ones. In specialized teams, participants work in a field related to their chosen specialty. Medical teams at Pirogov University belong to this category.

Today, the University has five student medical teams: “Aletheia,” “Hecate,” “Hera,” “Caduceus,” and “Aegis,” as well as the “Krios” medical landing team.

 A special place in the life of the teams is occupied by the “tsele” — the summer work period. The team selects a project, after which its members can work in Moscow or go to another region of Russia. Students are officially employed, receive a salary, accumulate work experience, and, most importantly, gain full‑fledged practical experience.

The squad movement is open to both upper‑year and lower‑year students. This is an opportunity to get acquainted with the real work of medical organizations earlier, develop practical skills, and gradually immerse yourself in the profession.
