What you need to know when applying for medical students: explains the Pirogov University Training Center

Pirogov University hosted another educational event within the framework of the SoftLab project from the Pirogov University Training Center, dedicated to the issues of employment of medical university students.

Yulia Guzunova, Head of the Department for Employment Promotion and Graduate Support, noted that the department helps students and graduates find their first job by providing individual career advice, information about vacancies and targeted employment.

The staff of the department is ready to act as intermediaries between graduates and employers, to help in difficult situations: to build a dialogue with employers, to understand working conditions, to protect their rights.

The speaker gave advice on resume design, highlighted the issues of the employment contract, as well as legal literacy in general: what should be, how to read and sign documents, the differences between white and black salaries, the risks of informal work (lack of seniority, sick leave, pension contributions).

Special attention was paid to the probation period: for young professionals at their first job, it cannot be established by law. The mistakes in the resume were analyzed in detail: lack of structure, use of slang, inability to highlight their achievements, fear of admitting lack of experience.

It is important not to be shy about talking about any experience (including volunteering), as this demonstrates maturity and sociability.

At the same time, it was emphasized that experience is not only official work, but also practical training at University bases, in hospitals, participation in internships and volunteer projects.

In conclusion, Yulia Guzunova gave tips on interview behavior: be sincere, open, confident, not afraid to show your personality and strengths, be able to have a dialogue and be yourself.
