Young researchers had a unique opportunity to learn about the latest achievements in this field, present their results and be inspired by the ideas of experienced colleagues.
Mikhail Sinkin, Head of the Department of Medical Neurotechnology at the Pirogov University Medical Institute, made an introductory speech, noting that the advantage of the conference is that it is fully organized by undergraduate students.
"This allows us to bring a fresh, creative and modern look at a scientific event, as well as gives young scientists a unique experience in organizing independently, selecting speakers, selecting reports and forming a program," Mikhail Sinkin emphasized.
Mikhail Nasibulin, General Director of the LIFT Research Center, emphasized that success in science is achieved through collaboration with professionals, and Irina Reshetnikova, Head of the Extracurricular Activities Department at Pirogov University, noted that the University creates an infrastructure for integrating educational and scientific activities, allowing students to engage in research.
The program of the two days was extremely intense. The scientific part of the conference included four sections, in which 16 oral reports were heard. Sections were organized on fundamental research and engineering technologies in neuroscience, medical neurotechnology, as well as research on animal and human behavior.
During the conference, young scientists presented reports on various topics, from advances in the field of neurointerfaces to the study of the role of the beta—amyloid and glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase protein complex in the development of astrogliosis in Alzheimer's disease. In addition to the invited speakers, the students also presented their research.
Along with the scientific program, the participants had open discussions, practical workshops, an excursion to the Federal Center for Brain and Neurotechnology of the FMBA of Russia, as well as poster sessions at the end of each day of the conference, where about 60 reports were presented.
Within the framework of the School, a round table was held on recruitment for the master's degree programs of the Neurocampus ("Medical Neurotechnology" and "Engineering Neurotechnology") for the next academic year.
The visitors were also able to participate in an interactive quest, which included tasks related to neurotechnology. At the poster session, the participants exchanged experiences, presented their work, asked questions to colleagues and established professional contacts.
The organizers thanked their industrial partner, the LIFT Science Center, for their support, as well as all participants for their interest in the development of modern science.
