The intensive "Laboratory of Knowledge. The path of the innovator"

As part of the intensive course, students of Pirogov University have traveled an important path: from analyzing the real situation and identifying problems to hypothesizing a design solution.

Yulia Ilinova, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development of Pirogov University, made a welcoming speech, noting that the creation of a space at the University for turning ideas into innovative solutions would allow young scientists and innovators to take the first steps towards their own project.

After the opening, the participants had an educational block where they learned about key trends in the healthcare sector and approaches to creating an innovative product. Alexandra Telegina, Project Manager at Rapid Bio, spoke about current and future developments in the field of laboratory diagnostics and shared the secrets of teamwork success.

Rinat Gimadiev, Assistant Professor at the Department of General Pathology at the Institute of Biomedicine (MBF) of Pirogov University, CEO of Labhab, emphasized that the future of medical innovation lies with cross-functional teams, where the doctor sets the vector based on real needs in practical healthcare. Recommendations on which platforms it is possible to search for potential partners and investors in the field of medical biotechnologies have become important.

Anatoly Ushakov, chief specialist in support of educational programs at the Center for Additional and Supra-Professional Education at Pirogov University, spoke about key approaches to the formulation of technological hypotheses and set the stage for group work, identifying the key steps of the project block.

After the expert seminars, the participants started working in teams, where for two days they analyzed current problems in their chosen field, formulated and selected hypotheses for design solutions, built a portrait of the target audience and a roadmap for further implementation.

On the second day of the intensive course, a presentation of the teams' design solutions took place: from digital products and new medicines to social initiatives. During the discussion, the experts gave the participants feedback, both on the content of the projects and in terms of product logic.

Ekaterina Ryzhichenko, Project Management Specialist at the Pirogov University Youth Center for Science and Technology, made a concluding speech, emphasizing the main task of the intensive course:

"One of the key competencies in innovation is the formulation of a hypothesis that meets a real problem. This is exactly what intensive was dedicated to, becoming a platform for productive interaction between experienced specialists and aspiring innovators."

The final day ended with networking, and participants and experts were able to discuss further steps in project implementation. Intensive was just the beginning of a long-term work of young innovators. Ahead of the participants, who have successfully completed intensive training, there will be a series of educational seminars, final defense of solutions and a persistent path to achieve their goals.
