Hristo Periklovich Takhchidi, Vice-Rector for Medical Work at Pirogov University, was the guest of honor at the International Conference on Ophthalmology

An international scientific and practical conference "Topical issues of modern Ophthalmology" dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan's Independence was held in Ashgabat (Turkmenistan). The event brought together leading specialists, scientists and practitioners to discuss topical issues of ophthalmology development and strengthening international cooperation in the field of medical science and education.

The conference was organized by the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and the State Medical University of Turkmenistan named after Myrat Garryev.

Hristo Takhchidi, Vice-rector for Medical Work at Pirogov University, Director of the Scientific Research Center of Ophthalmology, Professor of the Department of Ophthalmology at the IMD, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, became an honorary guest and a member of the presidium of the conference. The expert made a welcoming speech at the opening ceremony.

Hristo Takhchidi presented two reports as part of the scientific program:

— "Micro-reconstruction of the fovea in large and giant macular ruptures";
— "The role of choosing the place of fixation of the intraocular lens to the iris in order to fully preserve its functions."

The presentations were devoted to topical issues of modern ophthalmic surgery and aroused the professional interest of the conference participants.

The participation of a representative of Pirogov University in the international scientific forum was a contribution to the development of professional dialogue and the strengthening of scientific and educational cooperation between the countries.
