The University was visited by Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda, Nzabamwita Joseph, oncologist at the Military Reference and Educational Hospital of Rwanda, Muvunyi Jackson, and clinical internship program analyst at the Ministry of Health, Ngabire Iradukunda Maria Elize Hortensia, accompanied by Natalia Krylova, Secretary-Translator at the Embassy of the Republic of Rwanda.

On the part of Pirogov University, the delegation was received by Rector Sergey Lukyanov, Head of the Department of Medical Law, Ethics and Anthropology, IMM Evgeny Taratukhin and Head of the Department of International Cooperation and Public Relations of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation Stanislav Stepakov, accompanied by Director of the Department of International Development Yana Grigorieva and Head of the International Department Margarita Isaakova.

Sergey Lukyanov and Nzabamwita Joseph exchanged welcoming words, in which they stressed the importance of bilateral cooperation and expressed hope for further development of partnership relations. Further, the parties discussed in detail the possibilities of joint scientific research, the exchange of teaching staff and academic experience, as well as other potential areas and areas of cooperation.

During the visit, the guests visited a number of laboratories, where they got acquainted with advanced developments in the field of treatment of genetic diseases and learned more about the work of the Department of regenerative medicine and the research laboratory of cellular reprogramming.

In addition, representatives of the foreign delegation managed to try to perform the operation themselves using computer simulators in the laparoscopic training class of the Multiprofile Accreditation and Simulation Center.
