Within the framework of the Methodological Thursdays, a seminar was held on organizational and methodological issues of the pilot project implementation. It was attended by members of the working groups responsible for the development of new educational programs.
The following issues were discussed during the meeting:
— strategic objectives of the pilot project and the discrete residency model;
— stages of work and areas of activity of the working groups;
— development of Pirogov University's own educational standards in accordance with new requirements.
Olga Prirodova, Vice—Rector for Postgraduate and Continuing Education, said that participation in the pilot project is an opportunity to become part of a large-scale reform of medical education, introduce modern approaches to specialist training and improve the quality of training for residents to work in practical healthcare.
Marina Khoreva, Director of the Department of Training Highly Qualified Personnel, stressed that the development of our own standards will allow us to flexibly respond to the challenges of the time and train doctors who are in demand in the healthcare system.
Lyudmila Primachik, Deputy Director of the Department of Higher Education Training, paid special attention to the practical issues of designing Pirogov University's own educational standards, according to which the first enrollment of students will take place as early as 2026 as part of the pilot project.
The format of the face-to-face presence at the event allowed the participants of the working groups to ask questions and exchange views on the organization of further activities aimed at ensuring a smooth transition to new educational models and creating optimal conditions for the professional growth of future doctors.
