Stronger than frost: how was the winter Donor Week at Pirogov University?

Pirogov University hosted the first Donor Week this year. Despite the frosts and snowstorms, a special, warm atmosphere prevailed at the University for all six days. The desire to help turned out to be stronger than the cold: more than 500 people expressed a desire to take part in the action!

The results are impressive:

— 426 people became blood donors (87% of them were regular, 13% were primary);

— 6 people submitted samples for plasma quarantine;

— 21 people joined the Federal Register of Bone Marrow Donors;

— 191 liters of blood replenished the reserves of the O.K. Gavrilov Blood Center!

With each such action, the Pirogov University Donor Movement is becoming larger and more cohesive. The safety and comfort of each participant was provided by a professional visiting team of the O.K. Gavrilov Blood Center of the Moscow City Department of Health.

The next Big Donor Week is scheduled for April. In the meantime, we can say with confidence: at Pirogov University, "kindness" is not just a word, but a real deed that is in our blood!
