Science has no borders: how Pirogov University united scientists from Russia and Malaysia

Leading professors of the Department of Human Anatomy at the Institute of Anatomy and Morphology (IAM) of Pirogov University held a teleconference with the University of Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), demonstrating to future doctors from another part of the world the unique capabilities and depth of Russian medicine.

The focus of attention was on the lecture in English "Functional anatomy of the digestive system". Under the guidance of the staff of the Department of Human Anatomy of the IAM — Head Sergey Shemyakov, Professor Anastasia Bakhmet and Associate Professor Natalia Maslova — a live demonstration using cadaveric material was organized for the Malaysian colleagues. This innovative format, combining classical approaches with advanced visualization technologies, allowed us to reveal the most complex topic as clearly and deeply as possible.

It is especially important that the lecture was organized at the direct request of the UNIMAS management. This indicates the high authority and recognition of the teaching methods of Pirogov University on the world stage. Russian specialists focused on clinical aspects, clearly showing how fundamental knowledge of anatomy becomes a solid foundation for successful medical practice.

The initiative, carried out with the support of the Anatomical and Simulation Modeling Center and the IAM IT team, received enthusiastic responses from both students and teachers in Malaysia.

This is an important step in strengthening the international prestige of Pirogov University, which has demonstrated its openness, academic strength and willingness to develop cooperation. Such initiatives prove that there are no boundaries for real science and quality education.
