The first meeting of the Academic Council was held at Pirogov University this year

The central event was the approval of the list of candidates for the position of rector of Pirogov University. The following candidates were proposed for consideration by the Academic Council: Sergey Lukyanov, the current rector of Pirogov University, Olga Milushkina, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, and Dmitry Shagin, Vice-Rector for Innovation. The Academic Council approved the list, after which the traditional award ceremony took place.

As part of the "Teacher of 2025" competition, the University staff was awarded a diploma for the victory. Natalia Dmitrieva, Associate Professor of the Department of Pharmacology at the Institute of Pharmacy and Medicinal Chemistry, and Andrey Belevsky, Head of the Department of Pulmonology at the Institute of Continuing Education and Professional Development, became laureates in the nomination "For Loyalty to the Profession".

The victory in the nomination "Head of the Department of the Year" was shared by Galina Kovtyukh, Head of the Department of History of Medicine and Social Sciences and Humanities at the Institute of World Medicine, and Natalia Poteshkina, Head of the Department of General Therapy at the Institute of Continuing Education and Professional Development.

Eldar Anaev, Professor of the Pulmonology Department at the Institute of Continuing Education and Professional Development, was awarded in the "Professor of the Year" nomination. Associate Professor of the Year award was awarded to Ekaterina Khreptus, Associate Professor of the Department of History of Medicine and Social Sciences and Humanities at the Institute of World Medicine, Inna Yankovich, Associate Professor of the Department of Chemistry at the Institute of Pharmacy and Medicinal Chemistry, Galina Gordienko, Associate Professor of the Department of Polyclinic and Emergency Pediatrics at the Institute of Motherhood and Childhood, Associate Professor at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology named after Academician G.M. Irina Karachentsova, Savelyeva of the Institute of Motherhood and Childhood, and Pavel Voronin, Associate Professor of the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery and Dentistry at the Institute of Motherhood and Childhood.

The diploma in the nomination "Young Teacher of the Year" was awarded to Elena Likhodey, Senior lecturer at the Department of History of Medicine and Social Sciences of the Institute of World Medicine.

The honorary diploma of Pirogov University was awarded to Ella Kumirova, Head of the Department of Palliative Pediatrics at the Institute of Continuing Education and Professional Development, Alexander Ettinger, Head of the Department of Biomedical Research at the Institute of Biomedicine (MBF), and Elena Sergeenko, Head of the Department of Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy at the Institute of Continuing Education and Professional Development.

The gratitude of Pirogov University was announced to Tatyana Kulichenko, Head of the Department for the Implementation of the Functions of the National Medical Research Center for Pediatrics. In addition, the gratitude of the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation was awarded to the leading accountant of the tax accounting group Tatyana Klesun, Associate Professor of Polyclinic Therapy at the Institute of Clinical Medicine Vladimir Larin, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Immunology at the Institute of Biomedicine Anastasia Ogurtsova and Svetlana Kosyura, Associate Professor of the Department of Faculty Therapy at the Institute of Clinical Medicine.

The high title of "Honorary Head of the Department of Pirogov University" was awarded to Natalia Polunina, scientific director of the Z.P. Solovyov Institute of Preventive Medicine.

Denis Rebrikov, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work, made a report on the work of the Center for High-Precision Editing and Genetic Technologies for Biomedicine at the Research Institute of Translational Medicine, who spoke about the results of the work over the past five years and outlined the future plans of the Center. 

A key area of development will be the development of innovative methods of cancer cell therapy (TCR-T-technologies) with a practical purpose to launch the production of drugs for patients of the RDCB branch of Pirogov University, as well as large—scale educational activities ranging from working with schoolchildren to additional professional education. 

Vadim Negrebetsky, Director of the Institute of Pharmacy and Medicinal Chemistry, presented a report on the Institute's work covering the full cycle of drug development. Today, the Institute is developing experimental drugs for the treatment of the effects of ischemic stroke and Parkinson's disease. The plans include the registration of their own medicines, the creation of a Center for Preclinical and Clinical Research, as well as the launch of the journal Chemistry of Medicines. 

In the field of education, the Institute implements 107 educational practices, teaching in English, and also conducts systematic work with schoolchildren, laying the foundation for the training of a new generation of pharmacists and researchers.

At the end of the event, a number of structural changes were approved, as well as the results of the elections for the competition and the awarding of academic titles.
