Young scientists talked about how AI is changing science

On May 15, within the framework of the VIII St. Petersburg Medical Innovation Forum, a round table of the SMU of the Ministry of Health of Russia was held dedicated to the practical use of AI by young scientists in medical science. It was attended by representatives of Pirogov University.

Alexandra Khromova, executive secretary of the SMU of Pirogov University, M.Sc. of the Biomarkers Laboratory of the Research Institute of Translational Medicine, told:

  • about the role of AI in the work of a young scientist;
  • how AI solutions are already changing approaches to scientific research;
  • how AI tools are used in scientific projects and collaborations at Pirogov University;
  • about the vectors of development of biomedical research at Pirogov University at the intersection of medicine and IT.

Colleagues from other medical and pharmaceutical organizations of the Russian Ministry of Health also shared their experience of using AI solutions in scientific activities.

Pirogov University scientists are actively acquiring new competencies in the use of AI tools, including through programs implemented at the Digital Department of N.I. Pirogov RNIMU of the Russian Ministry of Health. Artificial intelligence is successfully applied in a large number of different projects, for example, employees of the Institute of Biomedicine analyze big data with its help.
