From November 22 to 24, the third All-Russian Choir Festival of Medical Universities “With Music in the Heart”, organized by our University, was held. Every year the Festival gains more and more popularity - this year we have gathered 15 choir groups from Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Izhevsk, Krasnodar, Smolensk and Voronezh. More than 250 students and graduates of higher medical schools of Russia have united to participate in the event.

The program was eventful and incuded a performance at the University, a dance evening, concerts in clinics and a final concert in the historic Pashkov House on Vozdvizhenka Street.

The grand opening took place on Friday November 22 at the University. The united choir of all groups performed the student hymn "Gaudeamus", after which the rector of the University Sergei Lukyanov greeted the participants and spectators: "I am very glad to see everyone in this hall! Student life is first of all the study, but a person who has anly one passion in life cannot be comprehensively developed. And the doctor must be multifaceted, because then he will better understand both life and patients, and, in principle, better cope with his work. But what I am particularly pleased to realize is that the Choir Festival is not just a competition and a demonstration of opportunities and talents, it is also a performances in our clinics. For the kids who are there, this is a real celebration, which is very valuable. I wish you all successful performances and congratulations to the organizers on the start of the contest! ”

The dean of the pediatric faculty, Professor Lidia Ilyenko, in her welcoming address to the audience noted the importance of the event: “Patients in our hospitals need a joyful mood. Last year, through the efforts of students, we held concerts in our clinics, and this is a completely new, amazing experience, both for doctors and patients, which will always remain in the heart. A doctor who knows how to play a musical instrument and who sings is a special person. In my opinion, absolutely all the choristers who gathered in this hall have already won. ”

This year, the main prize, the statuette "Emerald Heart", for the "best performance of a work of a medical nature" won the vocal-choir ensemble "Elegia" of the Izhevsk State Medical Academy.
