Vision Day 11 November

The annual campaign "Good Vision for Life", organized by the Department of Medical Support for students and employees of the University, was held in the Solar gallery. As part of the action, everyone was tested free of charge using the TOPCON ophthalmological equipment and consulted by specialist doctors.

“Our campaign aims at identifying and monitoring the pathology of refraction. Today, quite a lot of students and employees passed the test - 267 people. Regular eye examination is important in medical schools, primarily because many students over the years of painstaking study do not even notice progressive visual impairment. We monitor these changes, remind about constant monitoring and recommend treatment. After all, it is important to remember that visual impairment not only changes the quality of life, but also, which is important in choosing a future profession, will lead to a limitation of admission to some specialties in residency and graduate school.” - so commented on the results of the action, medical optometrist Olga Fokina.

During the consultation, students were told about the need for timely full correction of vision, as well as about the ability to correctly select glasses or contact lenses with a specialist when contacting the university office of vision protection.

In case of serious visual impairment, experts recommended continuing the examination at the Research Center of Ophthalmology of our University.
