The health of the nation is the foundation of the country's technological leadership

Pirogov University hosted an expert session organized by the NGO "National Priorities", dedicated to the formation of commitment to a healthy lifestyle among the younger generation. It is in childhood that the foundations of physical and mental health are laid, which affect the rest of life and the potential of the nation.

Vera Nikishina, director of the Institute of Clinical Psychology and Social Work, emphasized:

"It's fashionable to be smart."

In her opinion, this idea should be promoted by young opinion leaders, not just the older generation. It is important that the pursuit of knowledge and health care be perceived as a prestigious trend. Special attention should be paid to primary school teachers, as they form the child's first ideas about the world and influence his values. Olga Milushkina, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at Pirogov University, noted the need to "develop a set of corporate measures for primary school teachers," since it is what a child sees at this age that determines his future.

The first Vice—rector, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development of Pirogov University, Giorgi Nadareishvili, noted:

"For Pirogov University, the topic of developing a healthy lifestyle and its impact on the health of the nation is very important. It develops in our country from several sides:

  1. educational component — we train future doctors who use and transfer the acquired knowledge;
  2. the scientific component — we not only use knowledge from the best experts, but also create it ourselves.;
  3. performing an educational function."

Working with young people from an early age should become a priority of national policy in order to form a generation of healthy and successful people capable of ensuring Russia's technological leadership.
