Surgery without borders: students of Pirogov University tested themselves at the intra-university stage of the Olympiad

The intramural stage of the Moscow (International) Student Surgery Olympiad was held on the basis of the Buyanov State Clinical Clinical Hospital. The event brought together about 150 representatives of 10 student scientific circles, which highlights the high interest of young people in the surgical art.

The main goal of the Olympiad is not only to identify the best of the best, but also to create a unique educational environment for honing practical skills in conditions as close as possible to real clinical practice.

The representative composition of the jury, which included about 50 leading experts, gave special importance to the event. The students' skills were assessed by experts from Pirogov University and the Buyanov State Clinical Hospital, as well as representatives of the SM Clinic, the N.V. Sklifosovsky Research Institute of Emergency Medicine, the F.I. Inozemtsev State Clinical Hospital and other organizations.

As part of the Olympiad, participants competed in ten competitions, such as "Vascular Suture", "Intestinal Suture", "Endovascular Competition", "Urological Competition", "Plastic Surgery", "Tendon Suture", "Neurosurgical Competition", "Endovideosurgical Competition", "Desmurgy", "Gynecological Competition" and "Knitting surgical knots." Each of these stations tested the special skills, accuracy and speed of future surgeons.

The winners and prize-winners of the intramural stage will be eligible to represent Pirogov University at the regional stage of the Olympiad, which will be held at Yaroslavl State Medical University.
