Students of Pirogov University reached the finals of the 10th Festival of Sports for Students of Medical and Pharmaceutical Universities

The qualifying stage of the festival with international participation “Physical training and sport - the second profession of a doctor”, which began on March 3, will be held until March 15 in Moscow, Ryazan and Voronezh. Pirogov University teams are participating in competitions in such sports as mini-football, volleyball, basketball, chess, swimming, badminton and darts. The mini-football, chess and darts teams, as well as the men's volleyball team have already qualified for the finals of the festival, which will be held in April in Volgograd.

The mini-football team played five matches, including four winning games. As a result, the players of N.I. Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University of the Russian Ministry of Health took the honorable second place in the tournament ranking.

The silver medalist in the team standings was also the student sports club “Chess RNIMU”. In the individual standings the second places were taken by the national team members Savva Morgailenko and Olesya Engovatova.

Within the framework of the festival, the darts team achieved high results. The guys for the third time won the title of the winner of the qualifying round with a team score of 2,389. In doubles, the women's team won and the men's team took second place. In the team tournament, the students took home the silver medal. According to the results of the individual results, the first place among girls was taken by Dilyara Bulatova, the third place among girls – Anastasia Blitsau, and the third place among men was won by Egor Ragulin.

The winner of volleyball tournaments for the third year in a row is the men's team of Pirogov University. Thanks to cohesion and high motivation the guys beat teams from different cities of Russia. 

The swimming team brought the University fourth overall team place and distinguished itself in individual standings. The foursome took third place in the 50-meter combined (mixed) style relay swimming, and Anastasia Nedopekina got third place in the 50-meter butterfly.

We congratulate all athletes of N.I. Pirogov RNIMU with worthy results. We would like to wish special luck to the basketball and badminton teams, whose qualifying games will be held at the end of this week.
