State Duma deputy Yulia Nikolayevna Drozhzhzhina visited the Center for Preclinical Translational Research at Pirogov University

Within the framework of the visit the representative of the Committee on Health Protection got acquainted with the work of the genomics laboratory. The head of the laboratory Dmitry Olegovich Korostin told about the laboratory's scientific research and medical activities.

Yulia Nikolaevna admits that for her bone marrow donation is one of the priority topics in her work, so it is especially important for her to see the process with her own eyes and understand the challenges faced by specialists.

Mr. Tigran Gagikovich Muradyan, Head of the Medical Department, Head of the Bone Marrow Donor Registry of Pirogov University, presented detailed information about the work of the Federal Bone Marrow Donor Registry and the contribution of Pirogov University.

The experts discussed key issues: development of the registry, optimization of work and attracting more people to conscious donation.

“Pirogov University is one of the anchor organizations developing bone marrow donation in the Russian Federation. Our goal is for every recipient to find a compatible bone marrow donor and recover. I thank Yulia Nikolaevna for the interesting conversation and discussion of sensitive issues of bone marrow donation”, - emphasized Tigran Gagikovich.
