Practical training for student medical teams at Pirogov University

The N.I. Pirogov RNIMU of the Ministry of Health of Russia has completed a cycle of practical training for student medical teams of Moscow. The training, which took place in the modern Multidisciplinary Accreditation and Simulation Center (MASC) under the guidance of experienced University specialists, was an important stage in preparing students to work in hospitals in the summer.

For several weeks, representatives of various medical universities and colleges, who are members of the student squads of Moscow, mastered key skills of junior and nursing staff. Within the framework of classes at the IACC, students repeated first aid algorithms and practiced basic patient care skills. Master classes by practicing doctors on working with ultrasound machines, practical lessons on giving injections of various types, an interactive lecture on sorting and utilization of medical waste allowed the participants to gain valuable knowledge and confidence in their abilities before the start of the working season.

The summer period for the participants of the Russian Student Squads is a time of gaining professional experience in different regions of the country. Students are employed in medical institutions where they will work as nurses or paramedics. Thanks to practical training at Pirogov University, Moscow student squads will be able to make a significant contribution to the work of the healthcare system and gain invaluable experience that will become the basis for their further professional development.
