Thanks to the active cooperation of the O.K. Gavrilov Blood Center with leading universities and enterprises in Moscow, donation is becoming more accessible: field events allow students and staff to donate blood directly in academic buildings.
"The donor movement in Moscow is reaching a new level. We managed to achieve such results thanks to the popularization of the culture of corporate donation, cooperation with large enterprises, corporations and educational institutions, including the Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University of the Russian Ministry of Health,"Anastasia Rakova emphasized.
"Pirogov University has been developing the donor movement for more than 20 years as part of student life and youth policy. Together with the O.K. Gavrilov DZM Blood Center, 32 donor days are held annually — these are four large donor events lasting more than a week. Over the years, more than 30,5 thousand people have become donors. Every year, more than 2,500 donations are carried out within the walls of the University, which is more than one ton of blood. It is important to note that we are turning blood donation into a habit — donors continue to donate blood even after graduation, and many turn donation into a family tradition," said Milana Butunts, head of the donor movement.
