Dr. Dmitry Shagin, Vice-Rector for Innovation at Pirogov University, addressed the conference participants with a welcoming speech. He noted that effective rehabilitation of children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) is possible only with the cooperation of doctors, parents, teachers and researchers.
During the conference the participants discussed a wide range of topical issues. In particular, the topics of creating a system of early help for children with this disorder, peculiarities of treatment, medical and legal support for patients with ASD were raised.
Considerable attention was paid to diagnostic methods, ethical aspects of diagnostics and therapy, as well as new research on the use of telemedicine and medication assistance for people with ASD was presented.
