Fyodor Senatov, Ph.D.-M.Sc., Director of the Institute of Biomedical Engineering of the National Research Technological University “MISIS”, spoke in detail about bioprinting and its application. Essentially, it is a 3D printer that uses living cells instead of plastic to create tissues and organs. The participants learned about implants being prepared for preclinical research, materials for their “printing” and the prospects for creating artificial organs. It sounds like science fiction, but it is already becoming a reality!
The seminar ended with an informal discussion where participants were able to ask questions to the expert and exchange ideas on the application of bioprinting in scientific research.
