Pirogov University hosted the conference “The Great Victory of the Soviet People: No Statute of Limitations”

The year 2025 was declared by the President of the Russian Federation as the Year of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the Year of Peace and Unity in the Fight against Nazism. The Department of History of Medicine and Social and Humanitarian Sciences of the Institute of Humanities (IHS) of Pirogov University held a conference in honor of this important event for the country.

The conference was opened by Galina Semenovna Kovtyukh, Head of the Department of History of Medicine and Social Humanities of the Institute of Humanities, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Professor. She emphasized the leading role of the USSR in the victory over Nazism, which became possible thanks to the bravery and heroism of the Soviet people.

At the beginning of the event Igor Fyodorovich Konstantinov, veteran of the Great Patriotic War, associate professor of the Department of History of Medicine and Social and Humanitarian Sciences of IGN, Ph.

The guests were told about the treatment of patients in hot spots by Anton Gorokhov, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Head of the Anesthesiology-Ranimation Department of the Research Clinical Institute of Pediatrics and Children's Surgery named after Academician Y.E. Veltischev, Candidate of Medical Sciences, and Emil Rashidovich Shukur-Zadeh, Assistant of the Department of Traumatology, Orthopedics and Military Field Surgery of the Institute of Surgery of Pirogov University, Candidate of Medical Sciences.

Associate Professor of the Department of History of Medicine and Social-Humanitarian Sciences of the Institute of Medicine and Social-Humanitarian Sciences, Candidate of Historical Sciences Peter Igorevich Falaleev presented a report on the work of medical scientists during the Great Patriotic War. Other members of the department also made speeches: Mikhail Viktorovich Kugach told about the feats of Soviet fighters during the military operation during the Great Patriotic War, and Roman Nikolaevich Zhdanov devoted his report to the theme of one man's feat and the strength of personality of Soviet heroes.

The patriotic mood of the conference ended with the performance of songs by Igor Kranov, a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine of the N.I. Pirogov Russian National Research Institute of Medical Sciences of the Russian Ministry of Health, a doctor, a laureate of international competitions.

Speeches and music performed at the event aroused great interest and response from the audience.
