Pirogov University hosted an event of the “Healthy Skin” project

The “Healthy Skin” school was created for schoolchildren, their parents and teachers with the participation of the Department of Dermatovenerology named after Academician N.K. Skripkin and the Department for Work with Entrants. The key speaker of the event was Tatyana Gaidina, Director of the Center for Implementation of Educational Programs of ICM.

Within the framework of the first lecture the questions of epidemiology, pathogenesis and modern methods of scabies prevention were considered. The second lecture was devoted to the importance of early diagnosis of melanoma and other malignant skin neoplasms.

The expert noted the importance of prevention and timely diagnosis of skin diseases, emphasizing the listeners' attention to the need for self-diagnosis.

According to statistics, in 2023, about eight million cases of skin diseases were identified, of which five and a half million were diagnosed for the first time. Our task as doctors is to diagnose skin cancers at early stages, because then they are well treated and the patient has a high chance of recovery,” Tatiana Gaidina emphasized.

At the end of the event, the participants were able to consolidate their knowledge at a practical master class dedicated to the prevention and detection of skin diseases. In order not to miss other events for schoolchildren, follow the announcements on the Pirogov University website.
