Pirogov University held Russia's first 'Clinical and Psychological Workshop on Interdisciplinary Interaction'

A unique educational project was held at Pirogov University and N.A. Alekseev Psychiatric Clinical Hospital No. 1 as part of the “Scientific Strings” clinical school for young scientists.The program was created and implemented under the supervision of the scientific supervisor of the Student Scientific Society (SSS) of Pirogov University, Candidate of Medical Sciences Nadezhda Aleksandrovna Bylova. The author of the idea and project supervisor is Ilya Vasilievich Karunin, Head of the Psychological Education Department of the Student Scientific Society.

Students and young specialists from leading medical and psychological universities of Russia took part in the innovative workshop. The main objective of the initiative is to form professional competencies in the field of mental health. The participants were trained in interdisciplinary interaction, examined real patients and developed comprehensive treatment programs.

The final event was the defense of the developed programs, which demonstrated the high level of training of the participants. This workshop was the first project of its kind in Russia to train highly qualified healthcare professionals.

Holding such an interdisciplinary workshop is an innovative form of training. Students had an opportunity not only to work as a team, but also to observe how experienced professionals carry out such communication in practice, with all its complexities,” emphasized Elena Mikhailovna Ivanova, Chair of the Expert Committee, Associate Professor of the Department of Clinical Psychology, Institute of Clinical Psychology and Social Work, N.I.
