“Medics always have work to do, our business is to heal the soul and body. We need this to help each person personally, and this is what Pirogov University teaches. N.I. Pirogov RNIMU of the Russian Ministry of Health is one of the oldest universities in Russia and the USSR. It was the first in the country to have a pediatric faculty,” Alexander Rumyantsev emphasized.
The fundamental mission of the University is not only to impart knowledge and skills, but also to cultivate in each student a sense of responsibility and compassion necessary for true service to medicine.
Creative teams of the University took part in the opening ceremony. The children presented a theatrical performance about the history of Pirogov University, which began with the opening of the medical department at the Moscow Higher Women's Courses. Today the students continue the traditions laid down by generations of outstanding doctors and scientists.
“Pirogov University is activity, energy, progress and life. It is constantly transforming: new institutes, departments, divisions and medical centers of world significance are being created. Thanks to this, today Pirogov University is among the top 15 universities in the country. We are training people who will determine the future of medicine, create innovations and treat entire generations of Russian citizens,” said Olga Milushkina, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Pirogov University.
Within the framework of an open dialog with experts from Pirogov University, the festival guests learned about career and educational trajectories of a medical school graduate. Olga Prirodova, Vice-Rector for Postgraduate and Additional Education, noted that residency provides a high level of training and the opportunity to expand educational horizons, including mastering additional techniques and obtaining a digital specialty.
Marina Khoreva, Director of the Department of Training of Higher Qualification Personnel, said that 61 full-time residency programs are implemented at Pirogov University, and residents are prepared for primary specialized accreditation on the basis of a multi-disciplinary accreditation and simulation center. Elizaveta Korotkaya, a representative of the admissions committee, shared with future residents the main admission figures and opportunities for targeted training.
Students who are interested in admission are advised to carefully study the information on the University's website before June 1, choose desired and related specialties, including professional retraining programs, and use the opportunities of the accreditation and simulation center.
