On October 12, our University held its first forum for freshmen on mental health "Am I ready mentally?"

Professor Andrei Arkadievich Shmilovich, head of the Department of Psychiatry and Medical Psychology, Marina Georgievna Ivashkina, head of the Department of general psychology and pedagogy, associate professor Anna Yanovna Basova, and associate professor Valentin Vladimirov Fursov lectired different aspects of freshmen adaptation to University learning.

“We really want you to enjoy studying and passing exams, and no less fun from work in the future. That’s why we are holding today's forum” - said A.A. Shmilovich.

The teachers gave a lot of useful recommendations for faster adaptation, and also shared effective methods and techniques for achieving success in the learning.

The Forum actively used interactive technologies for evaluating the mental health of students. After answering the proposed questions of the tests, the guys were able to realize their emotional state at the moment and decide what kind of mental help they needed. The organizers told how anyone can get the necessary recommendations for correcting their condition by signing up for a free and confidential individual consultation with a psychiatrist-psychotherapist at the Department of Psychiatry of the University. Those who wish to master the methods of effective assimilation and memorization of material will be able to take an optional course at the Department of General Psychology and Pedagogy.
