On October 27, our University has traditionally become the venue for the large-scale international educational campaign “Geographical Dictation”.
Our students, schoolchildren and residents of Moscow were attended in the action. Before the start, Irina Bragina, the head of the Volunteer Center of the University, introduced the presenter who was supposed to read dictation — professor Nikolai Alipov (Physiology department of the Biomedical School) , a traveler with 40 years of experience.
The questions were difficult: many participants, according to them, had to recall the already thoroughly forgotten school curriculum. The dictation participants were very interested in the most beautiful places in Russia, photographs of which were used in the design of questions. And this added excitement not only to find out the correct answer, but also to see these sights with your own eyes.
At the end of the geographical dictation, all participants received commemorative certificates.
Reference.
This year’s annual geographical dictation was held for the fifth time. Each time, this action of the Russian Geographical Society is gaining momentum: this year more than five thousand sites for dictation holding were registered. Also, a dictation could be written online. From year to year, people of different ages take part in the geographical dictation with pleasure, which indicates the great desire of citizens to learn as much as possible about their country.
