The participants of the event were leading medical scientists, philosophers, psychologists, linguists and biologists. The speakers highlighted the issues of formation of clinical thinking in future doctors, ethical and legal issues of application of artificial intelligence, virtual reality technologies, bioethics and problems of consciousness. David Backhurst (UK), a friend and colleague of Felix Mikhailov, opened the conference with a written address.
His outstanding contribution to the development of philosophy in Russia was noted by such experts as Alexander Chuchalin, Head of the Department of Hospital Therapy of the Institute of Maternity and Childhood of Pirogov University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Vladislav Lektorsky, Chief Scientific Associate of the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Igor Mikhailov, the academician's son, and Elena Grebenshchikova, Director of the Institute of Humanities, Head of the Department of Bioethics of the Institute of Humanities of Pirogov University.
The conference ended with a proposal to the management of Pirogov University to support the initiative of the staff to assign the name of Academician Felix Mikhailov to the Department of Philosophy.
The speakers' speeches were accompanied by small discussions on the prospects for further development of scientific research in the study of human nature, on the possibilities and dangers of artificial intelligence, as well as on the importance of teaching humanities disciplines to future doctors, social workers and other health care professionals.
