Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko congratulated medical students on the start of the new academic year.

Mikhail Murashko noted that students will learn not only to treat diseases, but also to understand their patients, find a common language with them and help them overcome difficulties.

Thus, more than 45,000 students are starting their studies at Russian medical universities in higher education programs today.

— Today, on Knowledge Day, more than 45 thousand students of bachelor's, specialist's, master's degree programs and more than 30 thousand residents will start studying in medical specialties in educational organizations of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation and educational organizations subordinate to the subjects of the Russian Federation, more than 100 thousand children will go to study in secondary vocational education programs, — the minister noted.

In addition, this year, educational organizations of the Russian Ministry of Health have received 2.5 thousand children of participants in the SVR and other armed conflicts, children whose parents were killed or injured during the SVR, and children of medical workers who died from covid, as well as the fighters themselves, including 1,000 heroes of Russia.

Mikhail Murashko stressed that medical universities and colleges are continuously developing and becoming unique educational institutions.

Separately, the head of the Russian Ministry of Health added that one of the main tasks of healthcare development in our country is to provide the system with highly qualified personnel.

— Today, programs are supported at the federal level that make it possible to effectively implement personnel policy. The medical education system is constantly evolving. The interest in medical education is enormous, and the number of budget places has increased significantly this year," he summed up.
