Opening remarks were made by Grigory Arutyunov, Director of the ICM, and Olga Milushkina, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, who noted that metabolic health is a key factor in the prevention and treatment of many chronic diseases, which makes it necessary to develop a personalized approach to patient treatment.
The leading experts of Pirogov University presented their reports. Grigory Arutyunov highlighted the use of aGPP-1 in patients with metabolic syndrome, and Professor Igor Nikitin, Head of the Department of Hospital Therapy named after Academician G.I. Storozhakov, ICM, spoke about the features of the immune response during vaccination against seasonal influenza.
The experts also considered the problems associated with respiratory complications in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, the peculiarities of intestinal microbiota metabolism in patients with type II diabetes mellitus and modern approaches to obesity diet therapy, and a special place was given to a report on chronotherapy of heart failure.
The conference ended with a competition of scientific papers by young Pirogov University researchers on the topic "Metabolic Health", who presented to the jury their research on key aspects of metabolic health, such as the diagnosis of CHF, the role of inflammation in the development of obesity, and others.
The participants of the competition were awarded with diplomas and were given the opportunity for further scientific growth.
