The event started with qualified consultations of skin neoplasm specialists for all comers. Associate Professor of the Department of Dermatovenerology named after Academician Y.K. Skripkin ICM Tatiana Gaidina in a lecture entitled “Skin melanoma: what every doctor needs to know?” highlighted the current state of the problem, the most important non-modifiable and modifiable risk factors of melanoma development and ways of their prevention.
The panel discussion focused on modern methods of screening, diagnosis and prevention of melanoma, the influence of the human factor on the correct diagnosis, strategies to raise people's awareness of skin tumors and artificial intelligence technologies in this field.The participants of the discussion were experts from Pirogov University and invited guests: Olga Yurievna Milushkina, vice-rector for academic work, Tatyana Skripkin, associate professor of the Department of Dermatovenerology named after Academician Yu. Skripkin ICM Tatiana Gaidina,Head of the Department of Polyclinic Therapy ICM Vera Larina, Head of the Pathology and Anatomy Department of the Federal Center for Brain and Neurotechnology of FMBA Russia Olga Igorevna Patsap and doctor-oncologist of the Department of Bone and Soft Tissue Tumors № 2 of the N.N. Blokhin NMIC Oncology Nikolai S. P.
Special attention was paid to the methods of melanoma prevention among young people. All participants received recommendations on proper skin care and behavior in the sun. At the end of the meeting the speakers answered the questions of the participants.
