Within the framework of the exhibition “Russia – Islamic World” Pirogov University demonstrates an advanced development – wireless medical equipment for motor rehabilitation “Exokist-M”.
The uniqueness of the technology lies in the use of a hand exoskeleton controlled by a brain-computer interface. This allows to effectively restore motor functions in patients after brain stroke, craniocerebral traumas, as well as in children's cerebral palsy. Mobility and versatility of the “Exokist-M” equipment ensure the possibility of its use both in hospital conditions and for patients who use a wheelchair.
Dmitry Bobrov, Acting Head of the Department of Neurocomputer Interfaces at the Engineering Center of Pirogov University, emphasized that the effectiveness of the rehabilitation approach has been confirmed by a multicenter blind randomized clinical trial involving more than 300 patients.
