Integrated Residency — Postgraduate training: a new step in the training of scientific leaders in medicine

In 2024, Pirogov University launched a unique "Residency — Postgraduate" program designed to combine clinical training with scientific research. This project was created to support talented residents who want not only to master a medical specialty, but also to conduct dissertation research in parallel with their studies.

The results of the competition were summed up at the round table and the winners were awarded. The participants met with Sergey Lukyanov, Rector of Pirogov University, Olga Prirodova, Vice-Rector for Postgraduate and Continuing Education, Marina Khoreva, Director of the Department of Higher Education and other staff of the Department.

44 first-year residents participated in the competition for integrated training by departments implementing clinical medicine specialties. 21 people made it to the second round, the portfolio competition. The Commission selected the eight best participants recommended for participation in the program.

"Residency — Postgraduate study" is an innovative approach in medical education that allows combining practice and science. Due to its uniqueness, this program can become a sought-after initiative of Pirogov University, forming a new generation of doctors and scientists.
