Genetics of the Future: Results of the NGS 2025 Conference

Pirogov University brought together those who are changing medicine today. The 13th NGS 2025 conference was the place where scientists, doctors and technology leaders discussed innovative breakthroughs in genetics.

500+ experts from the nation's top labs and companies broke down:

  • How decoding the genome is saving lives right now - from early cancer diagnosis to predicting inherited diseases;
  • CRISPR and beyond: which gene editing tools will become tomorrow's standard;
  • Where are the limits of what is possible? Debates about mass genomic screening, test accuracy, ethics of DNA interference and the need for domestic standards for Laboratory Developed Tests.

Participants learned how next-generation sequencing is changing diagnostics. Successful treatment cases, gene therapy, personalized medicine, and specific methods were only a small part of the program. Especially memorable was the exhibition of leading organizations, each of which makes an invaluable contribution to the development of the industry in Russia. All those present were able not only to immerse themselves in the world of genomics, but also to get acquainted with the technologies that are already undergoing clinical trials and will enter medical practice in the coming years.
