We conducted physical therapy sessions with patients who are involved in sports at professional and amateur levels.
We should note the exceptionally warm welcome we received from the staff of the Volga Region Research Medical University. Each specialist with whom we interacted strived to impart maximum theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary in further work.
During the working day we took part in rounds, conducted physical examinations of patients under the supervision of experienced specialists. Special emphasis was placed on the interdisciplinary approach to rehabilitation, which implies close teamwork with physiotherapists, psychologists, occupational therapists.
At the Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics, our mini-group had the opportunity to develop skills in working with patients with physical disabilities and learn modern methods of rehabilitation. The internship program included a visit to the Institute of Pediatrics and an introduction to the work of a sports medicine doctor who accompanied the soccer team.
