An interuniversity conference “Physics in Medicine” was held at Pirogov University

The event is organized annually by the Department of Physics and Mathematics of the Institute of Pharmacy and Medical Chemistry. Two sections worked at the conference: “Scientific work” and ”Physical methods in medicine. Work with literature”.

In the section “Scientific work” students presented their own research and projects, carried out under the guidance of teachers of the department. The reports covered a wide range of topics: from medical application of liquid lecithin crystals to robotic endosurgery. The section was also attended by students of the Russian University of Medicine, who spoke about their research on the influence of beverages on the mechanical properties of tooth enamel. The Commission headed by Professor, Dr. Valentina Fedorova especially emphasized the report of the student of group 4.1.01b Ziryukina Diana “Electroodontometry: A Modern Method of Diagnostics in Dentistry”, which took the first place.

The second section “Physical methods in medicine. Work with literature” traditionally enjoys great popularity among first-year students. 13 most interesting reports were selected for oral presentation. An innovation was the presentation of the students of the Institute of World Medicine in English. The report “A Promising Method of Cancer Treatment: Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT)” aroused great interest of those present. The committee headed by Prof. Dr. Alla Kyagova awarded the speakers Dzandu Delali, Njong Tchuissyo Esther, Yabe Chungu (group 6.1.01a) the first place.

We hope that such a successful performance will inspire other students to take an active part in academic and extracurricular activities. We congratulate the winners and participants on their successful performance. The award ceremony will be held on April 9 at 17:15 in the auditorium 1022.
