A student from Uganda studied the Russian healthcare system as part of an internship at Pirogov University

Within the framework of the exchange program, a student of the Volga Region Research Medical University, Uthuman Mukiibi, underwent an internship at the Department of Public Health and Public Health named after Academician Y.P. Lisitsyn at the Z.P. Solovyov Institute of Preventive Medicine (IPM) under the guidance of the Assistant Professor of the Department, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Professor Georgy Bespalyuk.

During the training, Uthuman visited the Diagnostic Center No. 1 in Moscow, where the assistant of Dr. Chersi Gudiev told him about the management of a modern medical institution in the conditions of reforming Moscow polyclinics and hospitals.

The student was particularly impressed by the unified medical information and analytical system (UMIAS), which he considers essential for modern medicine.

“It was an incredibly useful experience. I saw how the healthcare system works in Russia and gained valuable knowledge about managing medical facilities,” shared Uthuman.

The internship was made possible thanks to the exchange program between Volga Region Research Medical University and Pirogov University. Now the student plans to apply the knowledge and experience gained in the healthcare system of his home country.
