A specialist from Pirogov University told how digitalization is changing attitudes towards vaccinations

During the meeting of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation on immunoprophylaxis, experts discussed the threats to immunity and the role of vaccines in ensuring human health.

The Deputy Director of the Center for the Implementation of Educational Programs at the Institute of Motherhood and Childhood of Pirogov University spoke about current trends in the field of vaccination. Ivan Konovalov.

"We are in a situation where vaccines have become hostages of their own success. Mass immunoprophylaxis, which has been carried out for more than 100 years, and a systematic approach in the form of the creation of national vaccination calendars and national programs have led to a decrease in morbidity after two generations. Modern youth do not understand why they should be vaccinated against diseases that they do not see on the street," Ivan Konovalov emphasized.

The expert noted that one of the challenges in the field of vaccination is digitalization, as well as the availability of information. Today, the professional community is listened to only by people who are initially determined to receive expert advice. However, according to Ivan Konovalov, even such difficulties should be regarded as an opportunity for compensation.
