Evgeny first got acquainted with donation during his studies at the university. Being the owner of the first positive (universal) blood type, he started donating blood, and when he found out about the Federal Register of Bone Marrow Donors, he immediately decided to join.
A call from the Registry caught Evgeny in the spring of 2025: "At the entry stage, they explained to me that a coincidence could happen in five or ten years, but everything happened much earlier for me. I thought: "Great, if that's what happened, then we need to help."
The stimulation process, as with most donors, was accompanied by slight discomfort. "I felt like an old man: it was hard to move, I didn't want to eat. But then it got easier. It's just a temporary stage that needs to wait out," recalls Evgeny.
The donation procedure itself lasted just over three hours.
Evgeny admits that the coincidence was a real miracle for him: "For most people, bone marrow donation seems like something out of a movie: distant and incomprehensible. And I explained that everything is much simpler than it seems. If you can help at least a little, help. After all, everything is under the supervision of doctors. It's just a chance to make the world a little better."
We would like to thank Evgeny very much for his participation and willingness to help when it is really needed!
