50 years later: Pirogov University warmly welcomed its graduates

The Faculty of Pediatrics was founded in 1930 and became the first faculty in the country and in the world to train pediatricians. For every graduate, studying at this faculty remains one of the most vivid memories for a lifetime. This is confirmed by the graduates of the University, who gathered at their alma mater to celebrate an important date — the 50th anniversary of graduation.

The opening speech was delivered by Lydia Ilyenko, Director of the Institute of Motherhood and Childhood, which is the legal successor of the Pediatric Faculty:

"The Pediatrician is alive and working, and we are already preparing for its centenary. He was the first in education and remains the first in importance. Our University has always been known for its pediatric faculty. Each of you can be proud of the achievements of our faculty."

The knowledge and skills acquired within the walls of their native University have become a passport to the world of big medicine for graduates. Thanks to them, they earned the respect of colleagues, the recognition of patients, and built brilliant careers that Pirogov University is proud of today. Now, half a century later, yesterday's students have gathered together to see familiar faces, hug each other and remember the times of their youth dear to their hearts.

The warm atmosphere of the evening brought the graduates back to the past: they watched a film about the pediatric faculty, remembered their strict but beloved mentors with a smile, and proudly called out the names of those who glorified the faculty. In addition, it was this graduate who participated in the construction of the main campus of Pirogov University.

And even though 50 years have passed, there is still a spark of dedication in the eyes of each of them, which they once chose and carried through their entire lives. More than half of the participants continue to work in the field of pediatrics, so there was something to talk about and argue about.
