In his opening remarks, the Rector of Pirogov University, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergey Lukyanov emphasized the need for students and residents to constantly participate in scientific projects.

“The most important property of modern medicine is the insane rapidity of its development. In our time, the growth of important scientific knowledge occurs every year, not once in an epoch or ten years, as it used to be. Therefore, by participating in such events, you can more easily understand your colleagues and adapt to the constantly changing situation”, – said Sergey Lukyanov.

About 1500 people and more than 400 speakers from 30 medical educational organizations of Russia, CIS and non-CIS countries took part in the work of 17 sections combining all fields of medicine. The participants presented the results of their fundamental and clinical research in the format of oral or poster presentations.

The attendees were able to attend lectures and master classes devoted to various problems of medical education and health care, as well as a large-scale exhibition of medical and pharmaceutical organizations. The conference was attended by the advisory center of the Federal Register of bone marrow donors, where everyone could join the Register.

The event ended with a solemn awarding ceremony for winners and prize-winners, as well as a lottery for speakers.
