The Chair of Medical Law, Ethics and Anthropology network of more than 700 chairs throughout the world that are founded in leading local universities. Every chair is unique and acquires its own dedication. The role of the Pirogov Medical University Chair is to provide state of the art education in the disciplines of Bioethics and Law to undergraduate medical students and postgraduate doctors, as to participate in international collaboration and common events of the UNESCO network. The department has been established in November, 2018.

The Chair provides training for students of Faculties of General Medicine and Pediatrics in the course "Jurisprudence" and students of the Institute of Global Medicine in the discipline "Bioethics".

Employees of the Chair are actively engaged in studying the problems of biomedical ethics and introducing modern ideas and achievements of ethical philosophy and international medical law into the practice of education and healthcare.

The Chair is actively collaborating with leading Russian and world organizations in the field of medicine and bioethics.

Employees of the Chair issue the peer-reviewed scientific journal "Medical Anthropology".
